Richard Greentree

A licensed psychologist with extensive management, management consulting, and teaching experience, Rick blends an in-depth understanding of group and organizational dynamics with a first-hand appreciation of the importance of productivity and financial performance. Focusing on the strategic development of personnel, work teams and organizations, Rick provides strategic planning, organizational change management, executive coaching, team development, and management assessment assistance. Client organizations have ranged from small, privately-held businesses to global financial and manufacturing firms; from universities and government agencies to non-profit community organizations.

Professional Background

Rick’s 30-year consulting history started with a desire to help create fulfilling, productive workplaces – organizations that attain financial goals and provide rewarding environments in which to work. Beginning his career as the Director of Adult Outpatient Services for a community mental health centre, Rick moved on to private industry. He has served as Administrator of Executive Development for Philip Morris USA, Manager of Management Development for a national electronics retailer, and as an internal organization development consultant for a Fortune 200 energy company. For 16 years, Rick served as Director of Strategic Management Services for a top 25 accounting firm, providing organizational consulting to that firm's clients.

A past president of the Richmond, Virginia chapter of the American Society for Training & Development, Rick has served on several national ASTD committees. He has also co-chaired the annual international conference of the Society of Consulting Psychology of the American Psychological Association. Rick has served on several boards of community organizations, has been adjunct faculty for American University’s School of Public Affairs and for the MBA program of the University of Richmond’s Robins School of Business, and has worked as adjunct staff for the London Business School. He currently serves as adjunct staff for the Centre for Creative Leadership, providing executive coaching to CCL clients.

Rick received Ph.D. and M.A. degrees from George Peabody College (Vanderbilt University) and a B.A in liberal arts from North Carolina State University. He was also a Clinical Psychology Fellow at the University of Texas Health Science Centre in Dallas, Texas.

Personal Profile

A resident of the United States Rick loves international travel, and the opportunities it provides to make new friends and to learn from other cultures. He lives in Richmond, Virginia with his wife Paulette and their four-legged friend Stella. His interests include cycling, exercise, history, music, and photography.
